This past fall, I had the pleasure of creating an ice cream buffet for one of my faithful clients. She celebrates her son’s birthday every year, and always has a super fun theme. For his 5th birthday, she decided to host a Fireman themed celebration. I was all too thrilled to be a part of bringing her vision to life.
She held the party at a local fire station, with real fireman who gave a tour of the facility for the guests. The party assistants even dressed like fireman. So naturally, I had to be a part of the fun!
But the real star of the show, outside of the birthday boy, was the ice cream buffet! My client came up with the idea to have an ice cream bar for the kids, and I thought it would be a great way to “cool off” after a long day working at the fire station. I immediately started thinking of the different toppings that everyone would love, and categorized them to make sure all the bases were covered.
The guests had a choice of three different ice cream flavors, three different syrups, fruit and nut toppings (chopped mixed nuts, pineapples, maraschino cherries, strawberries in syrup) miscellaneous toppings (sprinkles, chocolate chips, marshmallows, plenty of chocolate (cookies and M&Ms), and gummy candy. I chose Lifesavers to match the theme 🙂
All in all, the buffet turned out to be a hit, especially for the adorable birthday boy.
The joy on his face was the cherry on top!
Can’t wait for the next party!
